Construction Update
Last year Queens West laid down the utility lines (pictured below). This year QW tore up the sidewalk to lower the lines to make room for a future road.
Queens West will be doing gas main work on 48th Avenue at the end of July. Workers digging up the street have been rude to residents. Beware!
Queens West has begun construction of the first building, and plans to start Gantry Plaza this summer.
Work on Center Boulevard, a 6-lane road from Vernon and 48th Avenue to 50th Avenue and 5th Street, will begin soon.
Due to the Coalition¹s efforts, pile driving was scheduled to occur only between 7am and 4 pm weekdays.
Excavation for the project has created an enormous amount of potentially toxic dust which has been blowing through the area. The HPCC has informed QW of this problem, but nothing has been done to contain the hazard.
