1) I have mixed feelings--if all the effort went into making the park I think they could have designed it better. There is no way to get any relief here--it is all concrete...those trees don't provide much shade. It isn't like there wasn't a voice to begin with in the community, there was...I'm quite sure that if there was a vote, more people would be in favor of having green than concrete. The chain link on top of the barriers, creates an industrial feeling, like they are trying to keep people out instead of welcoming them in. The kiddy area is really sad. Kids use parks more than adults--I don't think anyone will bring there kids here.
2) It is an interesting plan and I know Queens West was aware of it... but judging by the way the park looks now, it was for the most part, ignored.
